How A Commercial & Industrial Photography Shoot Works

Every project is different, but the process behind it follows a consistent path from first conversation to final delivery. Here's what to expect.

1. Discovery & Planning

We start with a conversation about your project's goals, deliverables, and timeline. This is also when we work out scope and a realistic budget together — see What Is My Day Rate? for more on how that works.

2. Site Coordination & Safety

For industrial and active job sites, I coordinate directly with your team on safety requirements, access needs, and scheduling around your operations — minimizing disruption to your production while on-site. I own PPE, including steel-toed boots, prescription safety glasses, a safety vest, an APEX Type 2 safety helmet (OSHA and ANSI Z89.1 compliant), safety gloves, and a five-point harness. I arrive dressed for the project.

3. On-Site Production

I work efficiently and professionally on-site, whether that's a single location or a multi-day, multi-location shoot, to capture the images and footage your project needs.

4. Post-Production & Delivery

Generallly, photographs are delivered within 7 business days, or less, giving time for careful post-production and my priority adjustments on each image. When a client has a firm deadline, I work within it. For clients needing images for immediate on-site social media use, that can be accommodated with advance planning. RAW video files are uploaded within 48 hours of the project. Packaged, edited video typically takes 7–10 business days, though projects involving client draft review and other revisions can take longer, depending on the scope and revisions requested. Live video production for an event can also be arranged with timely advance planning. Additional retouching is available if your project calls for it - see Photographic Retouching.
